The Devil’s Rock Maze is divided into nine parts – nine zones ruled by nine masters. These guardians – figures from legend – set challenges for visitors that test their wit, patience, and courage.
Your task is to find the observation tower, solve riddles, discover all the sculptures, and complete the final phrase. Those who succeed can, at the end of their journey, become a Knight of Ľubovňa or a Lady of Ľubovňa. And it doesn’t end with the title – every successful hero can take home a medal and a commemorative certificate at the exit.

Back in 2017, this place was just a neglected, overgrown piece of land. But in the mind of a 22-year-old young man from Stará Ľubovňa, a bold idea was already taking shape. After visiting an ice maze in Zakopane, Poland, he thought: “What if I created something similar – but alive, green, and lasting – right here where I grew up?”
Years of planting, trimming, and above all dreaming followed. The whole family, friends, and supporters joined in. And that’s how Victoria Gardens were born – a place that grew from a dream and continues to grow with us every year.

Long ago, when Ľubovňa Castle was being built, its future lord was said to be unable to complete it on his own. So he made a deal with the devil – his soul in exchange for help.
The devil agreed… but, as often happens, he did not keep his word. When the lord confessed his sin, the devil lifted a massive boulder above his head, ready to hurl it straight at the castle. But at that very moment, the bells from the monastery began to ring – and the stone fell directly onto the devil’s head. Today, it lies above the Poprad River near Chmeľnica. We brought its likeness into the heart of the maze as an observation tower – the Devil’s Rock.

I named the gardens after the woman who stood by this dream from the very beginning – Viktória. She was there when it was just an idea on paper, when the hedges were barely visible, and when we watered every plant by hand during dry days. Today, she sometimes stands by the hedge with a smile and says, “Look, it’s already taller than me!” And for us, it’s more than just growth – it’s proof that everything good takes time, patience, and love.
Our vision is best captured in one sentence:
Victoria Gardens – a place where getting lost is worth it.

In each part of the maze, a treasure chest is hidden. But beware – there is only one winner each day! The chest appears in a different place every time, and the treasure goes only to the one who finds it first.
The master of each zone decides where the chest will appear, and whoever discovers it receives a voucher for a completely free return visit to the maze.
It’s like a magical pirate treasure hunt – but set in a living, green labyrinth.
So an ordinary wander turns into a race for treasure, and only the best can win.

Victoria Gardens are not just a maze – although the heart of the gardens is the Devil’s Rock Maze, the largest of its kind in Central Europe, covering 6,400 m². The entire area offers much more than just the maze itself.
You’ll find flower and herb beds, benches under stylish lamps, spaces for picnics and sports, summer theatre performances, concerts, and ice cream on the terrace.
We regularly organize summer events for our guests, creating an even more enjoyable atmosphere surrounded by nature.
